The Whites Fantasy Football – Deadline extended!
The club has received lots of interest in the Whites’ Fantasy Football Competition – designed to increase Darrell Clarke’s player budget.
Due to the recent bad weather causing postal problems and postponing matches, many fans eager to take part in the game have been unable to submit their entries. However…
The deadline has now been extended until January 8th to give everyone a chance to get involved. Forms will be available to pick up at the ground at the Chippenham game this Monday (3rd January).
Is your football knowledge better than the club’s management team? Darrell and Mikey have entered a team and are very confident they won’t be beaten!
The pair have set the gauntlet and are asking for challenges. So if you feel you have what it takes to out-football the Manager and his Assistant, prove it!
We’ll be giving regular updates on the league table, so you can judge yourself against the people who do this for a living! You might even want to keep an eye on how the Chief Executive’s team is getting on.
Of course, the competition provides a real boost to Darrell Clarke’s player budget so your money really does help the club directly.
But just because we’re trying to raise money for his budget, doesn’t mean we have to let the Gaffer win, does it?!
The Whites Fantasy Football – a competition created with the aim of raising funds directly for Salisbury City FC’s player budget.
The initiative follows a similar set up to that used successfully at Weymouth FC. In fact, it was the success of this competition that funded an entire month of Salisbury striker Matt Wright’s loan move there!
The game costs £10 a month per player. Of that money, £2 goes into the monthly prize fund. £8 goes straight into the player budget at SCFC.
Were one hundred of us to take part, we would be contributing £800 a month to Darrell Clarke’s budget.
So how can you get involved?
Each player picks one team from each section.
There are 19 sections spread across the seven leagues from the Premier League to the Zamaretto.
You’ll therefore choose 19 teams you believe will perform well over the coming months. Points are then awarded depending on your teams’ results i.e. home win = 5pts, away win = 8pts etc
The Fantasy Football will consist of four monthly competitions starting January 2011, with a cash prize each month for the best performer. It’s a great chance to improve the Club’s player budget through a healthy bit of competition!
So whether you’re a footballing mastermind or even just picking at random, don’t miss this chance to get involved, have some fun and make a huge impact on the Club’s ability to bring in new players.
Want to contribute but don’t want to play the game? No problem – you can donate using this donation form or on the Fanatasy Football website.
Thanks go to Ian White for running the competition.
