Squad update – Matt Clark

The Whites are pleased to confirm that Midfielder Matt Clark has agreed a new contract. The ex-Swindon youngster joined Salisbury in January 2012 and made 11 appearances in all.

Assistant Manager Mikey Harris confirmed “We are delighted that Matt will be staying with us for the forthcoming season. He is a born winner and will be a valuable asset to the football club having showed great potential in the period he was with us last season. It’s great to have him on board.”

Chairman William Harrison Allan added “The Board are pleased to see the squad continue to take shape, with another important young player agreeing a new contract.

Matt has showed great promise and we look forward to seeing him help the club achieve their goals next season.”

Ben Adelsbury

Adelsbury has turned down the offer of a new contract at Salisbury, saying “I enjoyed my time at Salisbury but have decided to focus on my education and want to be a bit closer to home.”

Manger Darrell Clarke commented “Ben has been a model pro throughout his time here and I am disappointed to see him go, but understand he is thinking about his long term future, and on behalf of everyone at the club I would like to thank him for all his efforts and wish him all the best.”

Chairman William Harrison Allan sent his best wishes, saying “Ben stayed with me at my farm for a year whilst he was a Salisbury player. He always conducted himself well, and it was a pleasure to meet his family and get to know him.

“He will always hold a special place in Salisbury’s history after his wonder goal at Hednesford. He has been a great servant and we wish him good luck with his education.”
