Salisbury City Away to a Winning Start
Salisbury City opened their season with a 3-0 home win against Stourbridge.  This was Darrell Clarke’s first competitive game in charge of the Whites and his team’s pre-season form continued as they pressed the visitors right from the start.
The first goal came from captain Chris Giles after 33 minutes.  In the second half the Whites extended their lead with quality finishing by Kayne McGlaggon on 48 minutes and Darrell Clarke, 57 minutes.   Both hitting the back of the net from outside of the box.  Clarke also rattled the post from distance, moments before scoring.
The impressive opening day crowd of 871 supporters were treated to some free flowing moves from the Whites.  Afterwards Manager Clarke said “I was pleased with our organisation and finishing.  We will need to keep working hard in training to ensure that we can turn our possession into goals.  This is a tough league with some good sides and we know our opponents will be looking to make it difficult for us.”
Salisbury City next play on Tuesday 17 August at Bashley, kick off 7.45pm.
