New Whites signing to boost attack
The Whites have taken 20 year old Striker/Winger Lloyd Macklin on loan from Torquay United, until January 2012.
Macklin started his career at Swindon and took part in a pre-season tour with them at the age of 15. He became the youngest ever player to represent Swindon at first team level in 2007, coming on as a substitute against Brentford in the Football League Cup, having just turned 17 years of age.
He joined the Gulls in June 2010 and has made six first team appearances this season, scoring against Cheltenham Town in the Johnson’s Paint Trophy.
He is available for both the FA Cup and FA Trophy.
Manager Darrell Clarke was delighted with the signing:
“We’re very pleased to get him in on loan, as he will add pace and strength to our attack, as well as opening up further exciting attacking options.”
