Honours even in six goal thriller!

Honours even in six goal thriller!
The Whites had to rely on two late goals to pick up a point at Cambridge City. Kayne McLaggon put Salisbury ahead from the penalty spot after Brian Dutton was fouled in the box. Hammond stole Cambridge an equaliser  in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
H/T 1-1

Both sides had chances in the second half but it was Cambridge who took the lead with a wonder volley from Fuller. Whites pressed forward in search of an equaliser and were caught on the break with a sucker punch from Hammond. 3-1 down with five minutes to go, Salisbury sent Chris Giles up front and sent on Josh Casey. Giles was straight into the action nodding a ball back to McLaggon who smashed one from thirty yards only to see his strike turned onto the bar by Barrett, however Adam Kelly reacted brilliantly and turned in the rebound. In the third minute of stoppage time some good work from Casey resulted in the ball finding player/manager Darrell Clarke in the box and he made no mistake slotting the ball home to earn Salisbury a valuable point.
Assistant Manager Mikey Harris said ‘We were disappointed as a group with the performance but showed great character to come back from two goals down with five minutes against a side who are expected to be there or thereabouts come the end of the season’.
F/T 3-3

Having watched the Cambridge City highlights from their previous
game, i am very pleased that we got anything at all from the game.
They are a big strong side who play it on the ground. I did not think the performance was going to be pretty. A point is a good result.
