We have already had a pitch inspection – in view of the state of the ground, it has been indicated that there is very little chance of the game going ahead.

The Football Conference will not permit us to make a decision today, in view of the proximity of our opponents, and therefore an inspection will be carried out at 10am tomorrow morning. Check the website shortly after 10am for an update.

Josh Casey

Paperwork was completed on Saturday morning for Josh to transfer to Bashley for a one-month loan, so he can get some more game time.

This meant Josh was able to play for Bashley against Frome on Saturday afternoon, where he made a good impression with a solid performance in midfield.

Jake Reid

We can announce that Jake Reid has had his contract cancelled by mutual agreement, and has now left the club.

We wish Jake the best of luck for the future, and would like to thank him for all he has done for the Whites during his time at the club.

The Whites headed to Dover over the weekend, hoping to capitalise on the momentum generated from the last two league matches – that could easily have seen the Whites capture all 6 points.

Robbie Matthews was undoubtedly hoping to make it 3 goals in 3 appearances – despite Dover’s impressive home record so far this season, unbeaten in the league at home.

As with the last two matches, the Whites started brightly – looking lively on the attack, and creating chances. Keeper Puddy was responsible not only for some competent saves in the first half, but also for some good pieces of distribution that led directly to chances –a long free kick leading to a shot at the Dover keeper, who did well to deny the ball with a trailing leg. Another Puddy free kick ended up at the feet of Robbie Matthews in the box, who drove the ball low into the arms of the grateful keeper.

Despite the number of potential chances, the first half seemed destined to end goalless, until the predatory Robbie Matthews ran back onside in the box to receive a pass, controlled the ball well, and fired it into the Dover net in the dying minutes of the first half – making it 3 goals in 3 matches for the striker.

The half-time team talk seemed to do wonders with Dover, who came out fighting at the start of the second half and provided a far more threatening performance than they had demonstrated in the first half.

After prolonged periods of pressure, with Salisbury counter-attacking, Dover played a nice pass across the box that resulted in a good save by Puddy. Unfortunately, a Dover winger latched on to the rebound, passed the ball across goal, and it was knocked into the net.

The second half came to a close with Matt Clark being dismissed for raising his hand to Dover player Phil Starkey after a minor disagreement.

Taking a point back home is undoubtedly a good result against a team with a lossless home record – however, the Whites will once again be wishing they had taken advantage of some of the missed opportunities they created during the match, particularly in the first half. Three points were definitely up for grabs.

That in itself is a sign of how this team are improving.

The Whites were held to a 1 – 1 draw earlier in the week after a trip to Eastleigh saw them rue missed chances in an exciting match.

After an excellent result last weekend against Woking at the Ray Mac, the Whites travelled to Eastleigh hoping to take 3 points from their local rivals – their performance against Woking showing indications that the changes made to the squad by Darrell Clarke are beginning to have an impact.

Whites keeper Puddy had an interesting start to the game, throwing himself into action to prevent an early Eastleigh attack from finding the net. Despite a bright start from the home team, the Whites pushed forward and began to heap pressure onto the home side, with chances for a number of players failing to find the back of the net, including a trademark long-range shot from Ben Adelsbury.

Forward Robbie Matthews ruthlessly capitalised on a defensive error by the Eastleigh defence, and put the Whites ahead.

Despite some increased impetus from Eastleigh, the first half ended with plenty more chances for the Whites, Losasso failing to find the target from several efforts including a free-kick that whistled over the crossbar.

Eastleigh ramped up the pressure in the second half, with Puddy having to work hard to collect a number of shots and crosses being fired across goal. Chris Giles was unlucky to have a goal disallowed at the other end of the pitch – 2 nil would have seen the Whites surely clinch the 3 points as they continued to attack the Eastleigh defence, who scrambled to clear shots off the line.

However, late Eastleigh substitute Graeme Montgomery fired in a superb effort from long-range, that saw Eastleigh equalise with just minutes remaining.

As against Thurrock recently, a late goal saw the Whites drop 2 points in a match that could easily have seen them claim 3 points – however, the sheer number of chances created and the passing and movement of the team are encouraging signs.

With some games in hand remaining against near rivals in the table, the Whites will need to ensure they convert as many chances and possible and climb the table.

Eastleigh 1 – 1 Whites
